A big thank you to Gyeongnam Football Club fans for being welcoming to me this season. I’d like to apologise for my poor level of Korean. You have been great to me. Thank you. You have been a real credit and an inspiration. You deserve more of an outcome of play-off first round' if the championship was won due to fans' Gyeongnam would be champions.

Your ideas for cards' ticker tape' toilet roll and sparklers were fantastic. I applaud your continuing and fervent support for GFC' despite at times the inept performances.

This season promised so much and on Saturday' although not a classic performance' we the fans deserved more. Gyeongnam FC have been cheated this season. Cheated of real points; Jeonbuk away with the atrocious amount of injury time played. Cheated of potential points; Yoon Bit-garam and Kim Jew-young going to the Asian games (although most K-league clubs can claim this. The KFA need to apologise to K-League fans for this crass judgement to allow the most talented players to leave at the most vital time of year. Finally' and most importantly cheated out of the inspiration of talismanic Mr. Cho. Why he couldn’t have had a duel role' or even waited until the season had ended is beyond me. The KFA screwed us over.

Saturday' though' wasn’t the anticlimax it could’ve been. I think most of us were resigned to defeat before kick off because of the recent poor run of form. We of course desperately hoped for a win' but deep down didn’t expect it. The game wasn’t a great spectacle. Both teams didn’t create much and 2-0 really flattered the home team' who were very ordinary. Jeonbuk will not retain their K-League title. There was a decent amount of pressure and possession from Gyeongnam but no movement' creativity or shots to trouble the Jeonbuk goalkeeper.

At the other end I have a great deal of sympathy for Kim Byung-ji who did nothing wrong all game and produced one great save; a stunning diving stop down to his left. But he had to pick the ball out of his net twice through no fault of his own. I wish he was 30 and not 40' as is his importance to Gyeongnam. He has been outstanding through the course of this season.

Defensively we were nervous early on and there was no leadership or an imposing performance throughout the game. This four at the back system hasn’t provided any success at all.

Midfield lacked creativity and was bereft of ideas' scandalously there was no width in which to attack Jeonbuk’s fullbacks and cross for Lucio. The few times we got into these positions we either got closed down far too easily or failed to deliver.

Lucio is a credit to all footballers. He didn’t get any decent support or service during the game but he kept on trying his best to the end. I have seen many players give up at being 2-0 down with ten minutes to play' but Lucio kept on giving 100%. Well done to him.

Gyeongnam didn’t deserve to lose on Saturday' but in the end didn’t do enough to win either. In a season that started well and had us all dreaming of success it is disappointing that we don’t find ourselves into the next round. This season can be summed up as a ‘should’ve done better’ year. Hopefully next year we will do better. See you in 2011.
